ANZAC Memorial Bridge, Newcastle

The Anzac Memorial Bridge is a fairly new structure in Newcastle.
It is a breath taking permanent memorial, in respect to the Allied Forces landing at Anzac cove in Gallipoli, during WW1.

The walk stretches the length of 450m and shows of some of Newcastles most scenic views!

3859 names of Hunter Valley men & women who enlisted are featured on the wall of the walk.

Its a perfect stroll to take on a weekend away <3

Port Of Newcastle!

It sure can be a wonderful sight for people outside of Newcastle to watch the Tug boats direct the big coal ships into the Port.

The other day while we were in Newcastle we were lucky enough to see this!. The ships really do look massive.

The Port of Newcastle is the largest bulk shipping port on the east coast of Australia, and is the worlds leading coat export port.

Although I am happy enough to watch the ships come in, you can however take The Newcastle Harbour City Sights and Sounds Cruise, with Moonshadow cruises to explore the Harbour some more!
You can find out more about the cruises here: http://www.moonshadow.com.au/cruises/NHSS/profile.htm

Vivid, Sydney. Worst experience! EVER!

Saturday we thought it would be a great idea to take the kids to Vivid in Sydney. For those of you that don't know, Vivid is a unique annual show, of lights, music and ideas.
We stayed at Novotel Parramatta and decided we would catch the Ferry into the city.
The sunset was stunning waiting for the ferry. Once we hopped on ferry they told us it was full and it was express to the city now! Yay so the trip only took just over half an hour. I was totally regretting giving my socks to Master 12 and wearing thongs! My little tootsies were cold as ice.

Once we got to Circular Quey  we decided to head up to see the Martian Place display. This soon become the second regret of the night! It was packed as up there and by the time we got back down to the rocks it ended up being packed as well. When i say packed, I mean jam packed shoulder to shoulder full of rude arrogant people. Wow knew it was going to be busy, but that busy??  Now for someone that suffers serve social anxiety this was not good for me. I felt like fainting most of the time. It made it so hard to stop and enjoy the lights.

After seeing just a few lights, I couldn't wait to get out of there. It was so disappointing.

Then there was the ferry line up.
I am not sure if I would have enjoyed it more without the kids. Probably not. I really don't know what the hype is all about, are people really travelling from all over the world to see these lights?
The highlight of the night for me was an icy cold can of coke and a Buttery salted corn on a cobb.
Never again Sydney Vivid... Never again.
