Biggest Morning Tea @ Longboat Cafe

One thing I love doing is supporting great causes! One of my favorite is the Cancer Councils, Biggest Morning Tea! This year we decided to go to Longboat Cafe at Fingal bay. They put on the best event!

I was in light delights heaven! The catering was just fantastic. The mini cupcakes were a big hit for Master 2!

It was great to see that nearly every table was full of people that were happy to support this cause.
Everyone knows someone that has been affected or had their life taken from cancer.
I had some of the best company with me today as well.

I was even lucky enough to win a bottle of wine in the raffles! Woooooo GO ME!

Great to see they raised about $1000! Every bit helps.
The staff were so accommodating and friendly.
This was my first time there, and I was impressed! Will defiantly be using them if I ever need some catering.  xx

Goodluck xx

Enjoy Today..... Mumma

I just come across this, and absolutely LOVE it!

Very true in so many many ways.
It pulled my last few days into perspective really. Master 2 has been so naughty. It started when I cleaned his room and when he noticed what I had done he stood in the door way and screamed. Then proceeded to throw everything back on the floor. Later on he painted all over my newly prepped canvas, followed by then drawing with pen all over the wall. Yesterday he ripped the embellishments off the cover of this years smash photo album i have been making then got paint on the carpet followed by squeezing big lots of paint on a plate.

This morning I found a piece of dried toast in my bed..... In the end why get mad?  They are making memories for us both. Before you know it they are grumpy teenagers who do nothing but sit in their room all day. It never lasts forever.

Barry Park, Fingal Bay

One of the Port Stephens best kept secrets, and one of my all time favorite places to go would have to be Barry Park, situated at Fingal Bay.
Its hidden behind bush land and I guess you would kinda need to its there, to know its there.

When you walk up the path way you are greeted with a BBQ area and park seating. This area is perfect for family gatherings on a Sunday Afternoon.

You could even play a game of foot or cricket on the large grassed area. Also great for a more private place for sunbathing!

The views also from this grassed area are just breathtaking.

Now, there are a few different paths at Barry Park. The one to the left heads to the rock pools. The one to the right takes you along a board walk to a bush walk. And the one straight ahead takes you to a small seating area on the edge of the cliff.

Its so calming and peaceful here. Also the perfect place to just sit and watch the whales go past.

Next time you are in Port Stephens, make sure you check it out! x

Lovedale Long Lunch 2015

Finally the day has arrived! Lovedale Long Lunch!
What is Lovedale, I am sure I heard you all think!! Well its an event held in the beautiful Hunter Valley. The perfect day for wine, food lovers, friends and fun. Groups take buses and experience 3 wineries on the day.

The day started at 9am with breakfast beers and the bus drive out to Lovedale, in which we picked people up on the way.

Our first winery was Allandale, www.allandalewinery.com.au.
My goddness it was packed! The food smelt great to coming in. It took a while to find a seat but finally did and we sat down to enjoy a Sparkling wine and Braised Lamb Shanks. It was divine! This was by far my fave place of the day.

The day was overcast and misty, the rain set in and all the umbrellas and ponchos came out. Made the day even more of an adventure.

We neighbored with many Elmo. Then hung out with the Vikings!

Not only was the food and wine divine at Allandale but the views were the best treat!

After 2 hours we then moved onto the next winery Gartelmann. www.gartelmann.com.au
Best Moscato EVER! Went down so easy.

We had a great time here. The toilet queues were long, but the music was great. Unfortunately the food we had Crab and prawn cakes were not really nice. The stage area was full of Wally's from wheres wally. Its lovely to see so many people go to a huge effort to dress up for the day. Dark rain clouds threaten the afternoon.

We spent 2 hours also at this place and headed back to the bus. Only for there to be one person from out bus missing! So the search was on to find him. I think about half an hour later he was found talking shit to other people.

Then you would not believe it, but on the way out our bus got bogged!
They tried to push her out, but she was well and truly stuck!
After a short wait they bought us in the big guns!
After we finally got out of there we headed to Saltire. www.saltirewines.com.au
After all the stuffing around we got an hour at this place. The moscato was absolute shit! Made us all feel sick and was very hard to stomach. Sorry Saltire!
By the time we got to Saltire most of us were well and trully toasted, thats for sure. The meal we had here was baked Salmon. Delicious! However not something I want to be eating with a belly full of wine. I knew it was bound to end badly. hahaha.

They day soon came to and end. The boys kicked up a stink when we were told it was time to go.

The worst part of the whole day.... the bus drive home! It was a bit hairy. I knew I had a great day when i was behind a tree spewing up salmon & cheesecake!

Lovedale really is a great day out. I recommend anyone try it just once. Make a day full of memories!
